| Saint Mary's (#24) is the single West Coast team in this week's AP Top 25 poll. One West Coast team fell out of the poll this week. Gonzaga had been ranked #21.
Saint Mary's enters the poll at #24 following a week that began with a win at home over San Francisco, 87-72. After that came an upset win at home against then-21st ranked Gonzaga, 83-62. Finally, they put up a third win at home against Portland, 69-61.
Gonzaga drops out of the poll after a win against Loyola Marymount, 62-58 and a loss to Saint Mary's.
Syracuse holds steady at the top for the fifth week in a row.
Along with new entry Saint Mary's, Illinois enters the Top 25 at #22 with an upset win at home over then-5th ranked Ohio State, 79-74. Seton Hall drops out of the Top 25 this week with a win at home over DePaul, 94-73 and an upset loss at South Florida, 56-55.
Louisville is a big mover this week to #23 after an upset loss at Providence, 90-59 and a win at home over DePaul, 76-59. Michigan tanked seven spots to #20 after a win against Northwestern, 66-64 and a loss to Iowa, 75-59. Kansas State slipped 7 spots to #25 after losses to Oklahoma, 82-73 and then-4th ranked Baylor, 75-73.
